What We Do We are a group of volunteers that provide emergency support where appropriate to anyone calling 999 service with a medical emergency. The support is designed to help until the ambulance arrives and First Responders are trained to provide oxygen and where required cardiac defibrillation. The service started in December 2006 and has now responded to more than 450 callouts. The local group was entirely sponsored by the Edna Dawes bequest through the League of Friends which provided 12 sets of equipment and all the required training. When We Meet Aim to meet monthly on the second Wednesday. Location Location varies - please call. Other Comments The responders are all trained by St John Ambulance and their qualification is overseen jointly by the Great Western Ambulance Service and St John Ambulance. All responders are members of SJA and undergo an annual refresher/training requalification. Contact Details David Chapman 01367 850454 Mike Cawsey 01367 252401 |
