The River Thames


The Thames makes Lechlade a centre for all types of river-based pursuits: boating, kayaking, camping, fishing, bird-watching and walking.

It is especially popular with walkers following the Thames Path and the Thames and Severn Way. The D’Arcy Dalton Way also passes close to the town.

Lechlade is surrounded by the lakes of the Cotswold Water Park, which provides opportunities for a wide range of activities – from sailing to water skiing, open water swimming to bird watching, archery to paint balling.

Nature reserves and green spaces

Located in or near Lechlade are Sherbourne Park (see town map), The ERPA Gloucester Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve, and The Buscot and Coleshill Estates, plus the nature reserves within the Cotswold Water Park.
